FE Journal: Xochitl

This book appears to be bound in dragonborn-hide. While at first glance, this may seem to be a terrifying or even offensive prospect, it is obvious that the book has been treated lovingly and great pains were taken to ensure that the hide was both beautiful and painstakingly unmarred in the book's creation. It can be reasonably assumed that this is something of an honor rather than an act of savagery. Xochitl keeps the book closed with a winding belt and a charcoal pencil tucked into the clasp. She occasionally sketches in the book as well, though she's not very good.

Itztlacoliuhqui: 1-Cuetzpalin

The thirteen days of fortune's change have begun, and I pray this year they are particularly fortuitously oriented. Cuetzpalin rules today in particular, which I find to be a faint blessing. Perhaps fortunes may yet change for the better.

How foolish were we to think that the Tlemachiotl was something that could be controlled and used for our own means. I do not doubt that Quetzalcoatl would have shown us the way: I doubt instead that our kind would have been capable of binding to his strictures.

No matter. What has happened has happened; all to do now is to survive the catastrophic aftermath. So far, Quetzalcoatl has guided my hand and allowed me to survive; I pray that I may continue this survival for far longer yet. My recent associates have been tasked with slaying a dragon so that a small settlement may be more equipped to survive this cataclysm. I have my doubts as to whether or not the settlement will survive, but I have no doubt that we will be fully capable of removing the draconian menace.
